Age-Appropriate Prenatal Care: Our Commitment to You and Your Baby
At My Sweet Baby, the health and safety of both mom and baby are our top priority. While our 3D/4D elective ultrasounds provide a special opportunity to bond with your baby, these services are never a substitute for medical care. We believe every expectant mother deserves the peace of mind that comes from proper prenatal care before enjoying the keepsake experience of elective ultrasound.

What Is Age-Appropriate Prenatal Care?
Prenatal care is the routine medical attention and screenings a mother receives throughout pregnancy to support her health and her baby’s development. Age-appropriate prenatal care typically includes:
-
Regular Doctor’s Appointments – Starting early in pregnancy and continuing on a recommended schedule.
-
Diagnostic Ultrasounds – Such as an early dating scan, nuchal translucency scan, and the detailed anatomy scan around 20 weeks.
-
Lab Work & Screenings – Bloodwork, genetic testing, glucose screenings, and other labs as advised by your healthcare provider.
-
Ongoing Monitoring – Checking blood pressure, weight, and overall health to detect any concerns early.
These steps are essential to ensure both mom and baby are safe, healthy, and progressing as expected.

Why This Matters at Our Facility
Because your well-being comes first, we require that all clients have received age-appropriate prenatal care before booking an elective ultrasound. If you have not yet had prenatal care such as doctor’s visits, required ultrasounds, or lab work, we will kindly ask you to complete those with your healthcare provider first.
For example:
-
If you are over 20 weeks and have not yet had your anatomy scan, we will not be able to perform a gender or 3D/4D ultrasound until your provider has completed that exam.
-
If you are early in pregnancy and have not had a confirmation or dating scan with your provider, we will ask that you schedule one before coming to us.
This policy ensures that both mom and baby are receiving the medical attention they need, while keeping elective ultrasounds a safe, joyful, and memorable bonding experience.

We know every pregnancy is unique, and you may have questions about what qualifies as age-appropriate prenatal care for your stage. If you are unsure, we ask that you call us before booking your appointment. Please understand that we cannot and will not make exceptions to this policy under any circumstances.
